What nobody else does

Across all 11 tools, none captures an e-signed consent and video release at the moment a testimonial is submitted, none labels how a testimonial was verified, none gives each testimonial a public verify page, and none keeps an append-only audit log of submission, consent, edits and approvals. That is the whole product here:

  • Signed consent and video release on every submission, on every plan including Free, stored with the name, timestamp and release version.
  • Verification labeled honestly. Email-verified at minimum; purchase-verified on Pro when a testimonial matches a real Stripe or Shopify purchase.
  • A public verify page behind every badge, showing who gave the testimonial, when, how it was verified, and that consent is on file. No email addresses or IP data are exposed.
  • An append-only audit log per testimonial, so the proof survives edits, approvals and team changes.

One honest exception: Vocal Video builds a license into its terms for every submission, and offers an optional custom clickthrough release on its Pro plan ($149/mo) and up. It is a paid add-on mechanic rather than the default, and it comes with no verify page, no verification label, and no audit trail a buyer can check.

Where others are ahead, for now

Honesty cuts both ways. These are real gaps in Get Reviews today, and they are the top of our roadmap:

  • Imports from 30+ platforms. Senja, Famewall and Shapo pull in reviews you already have on Google, G2, Trustpilot and more, some with auto-sync. We offer manual import today; platform imports are the biggest item on our roadmap.
  • Automated request campaigns. Testimonial.to runs multi-step email sequences and Endorsal adds SMS requests. We send email invites with one automated follow-up.
  • Video captions and transcripts. Senja makes video text searchable; Vocal Video captions and polishes every clip automatically. Our videos are recorded cleanly but not transcribed yet.
  • Social assets. Image cards, quote graphics and short reels (Senja, Famewall) turn one testimonial into a week of posts. On our roadmap.
  • More display formats. Popups, floating badges and marquee widgets exist elsewhere; we ship the Wall of Love, carousel and single-quote embeds, plus review schema on the roadmap.

If imports or automated campaigns are the deciding feature for you today, one of the tools above may fit better right now. If the testimonials you publish need to be provable, that trade runs the other way.

Review gathering platforms

The tools above collect testimonials. The platforms below gather reviews for local businesses, and buyers cross-shop them with us now that Get Reviews includes the photo experience module. Each page is a full side-by-side, checked against the vendor’s own site in October 2026.

  • NiceJob alternative: automated requests from Jobber, QuickBooks and Square vs in-person photo pages with signed consent.
  • Birdeye alternative: an enterprise AI platform quoted per deployment vs published pricing and a free plan.
  • Podium alternative: an AI employee for leads and messaging vs a focused review and proof layer.
  • GatherUp alternative: per-location reputation management with Review Defense vs flat pricing and provable testimonials.

Comparison questions

Is Get Reviews the cheapest testimonial tool?

No. Famewall starts at $15/mo and Elfsight sells a $5 display widget (display only, no collection). Get Reviews is the lowest price for unlimited video, $19/mo, and the only tool at any price that documents consent and verification on every testimonial.

Why does consent and verification matter for testimonials?

The FTC rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465) makes fake or undocumented testimonials a legal risk, and buyers increasingly check proof before trusting a wall of praise. A signed release means you can use the testimonial in ads; a verify page means a skeptical buyer can confirm it is real. See our FTC testimonial compliance checklist.

Can I bring testimonials I already have?

Yes, with manual import today. Imported testimonials are flagged honestly as imports, with no submitter consent on file, rather than being dressed up as verified. Platform imports from Google, G2 and others are on the roadmap.

What does a verify page show?

Who gave the testimonial, when they gave it, how it was verified (email-verified, or purchase-verified on Pro), and that a signed consent and release are on file. It never exposes email addresses, IP addresses or other private data.
